Do you undersrand your laser goggles are qualified

High-power ultrafast pulsed lasers are used widely for biomedical applications and imaging, materials processing, industrial micromachining and more. But many laser-eyewear products are not tested with ultrafast lasers and may not be providing adequate protection for the technical workers who depend on them. The main reason for this situation lies in the typical test procedures and standard measurements widely followed by eyewear makers to set their product specifications. Those methods use low-power continuous-wave (CW) light sources. As a result, they do not capture many potential hazards of actual high-power , pulsed-laser working conditions. Moreover, end users only infrequently test how their eyewear performs in particular applications prior to deployment. Scientists at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST; Gaithersburg, MD and Boulder, CO) and Hood College (Frederick, MD) have published a study of 24 samples of protective filters used in eyewear from fiv

355nm Ultra Violet UV DPSS Laser

Image
355nm Ultra Violet UV DPSS laser is a new laser technology, widely used in laser cutting and engraving. 355nm laser is used in university experiments, however the highest continuous power is < 20mW. If you need higher power, the pulses 355nm UV laser can reach 1000mW (1W). Most of the users install 355nm DPSS laser into engraving machines. There are four types : CW ultraviolet laser at 355 nm; Passively Q-switched ultraviolet laser at 355 nm, Actively Q-switched ultraviolet laser at 355 nm, Fiber coupled laser system at 355 nm Specifications: Wavelength (nm) 355nm Output power (W) 1000-5000 Working Mode LD pumped, pulse Q-Switch Acousto-Optic Beam Mode: Transverse mode TEM00 Longitude Multi-longitude Spectral Linewidth (nm) <0.1 Polarization Line polarization Pulse width (ns) <25 (typical, @ 20KHz) Repetition Rate (KHz) 20~200 Peak Power (KW) 10 (typical, @5W) Beam Divergence (full angle, mrad) <1.5 Beam Diameter at Aperture (mm, 1/e2) <1.0 (y

DPSS and tunable lasers cover 210 to 2600nm

Image
The Quantas DPSS , Nd:YAG or Nd:YLF, and tunable lasers provide low repetition rates of 0 to 100 Hz. Pulse energy of up to 100 mJ is available. The air-cooled systems supply harmonic generation down to the fifth harmonic (approximately 210 nm), and integrate OPOs and frequency shifts to cover a spectrum from 210 to 2600 nm.

2000mw blue laser pointer review -- Strongly recommend

Image
If you're going to buy a 2W blue  laser p ointe r,  it's highly recommended to look at the review video below :  https://youtu.be/_Gl5__VcBdU The real high power laser p ointer , powerful laser, rich accessories . Read several sites of high-power laser pen product page, u ntil f ound the review video on Y outube . I don't want to look for other businesses anymore, that's this, LuckLaser's 2W blue laser pointer , and I'm expecting it, and the price is still being promoted .

Laser light show scheduled to achieve Guinness World Records title

Image
To celebrate its tenth anniversary, laser light show and laser system design specialist ER Productions (Dartford, Kent, England) will attempt a Guinness World Records title for the largest laser show at Live Design International (LDI) in Las Vegas at 7:30 pm on Saturday 18 November on the LDI: Live outside stage. ER Productions plans to use over 300 lasers as part of a 30-minute laser showcase that will culminate in a seven-minute finale to achieve the Guinness World Records largest laser show accolade. The title attempt will feature a live performance from British DJ, Damian Gee, who will soundtrack the event at LDI, North America’s largest trade show for the live entertainment technology and design industry. Ryan Hagan, co-founder of ER Productions, said, "We opened our first US office in Las Vegas 3-years ago, 7-years after we started the company and the city has been very kind to us.  For our 10th birthday, we wanted to create a truly memorable laser show that people w

That laser pointer could be more dangerous than you think

Image
But increasing ease of use can bring with it the danger of misuse, whether deliberate or accidental. Concern is growing over the safe use of small, battery powered, hand held lasers. For example, there are now thousands of incidents every year of aircraft pilots being targeted by lasers from the ground close to airports, with some suffering serious eye damage. This wilful and illegal misuse highlights the potential for accidents too. Our eyes are highly developed to see in great detail and also in very low light , but these very qualities make them vulnerable to damage from light, too. Lasers are classified according to whether they present a danger to the eye, with classes 1 and 2 being safe in normal use, but how often do we check that a new media player has its correct "class 1 laser product" sticker? Dangerous lights At least the lasers in media players are enclosed. Laser pointers are designed to be free and to be seen. At low power, less than a thousan

How to choose high power green laser pointer? What should we pay attention to in the process of using?

Image
The green laser pointer is the most popular laser pointer on the market. Because green lasers are brighter and brighter than other colors. Most of the market is less than 50MW green laser pointer , and the price is very cheap. Such laser pointer Compact size, easy to carry, bright beam of light to indicate the effect class.Such laser pointer Compact size, easy to carry, bright beam of light to indicate the effect class. If you are a super laser enthusiast, or have research needs, other special purposes, then do not meet the low-power green laser pen, want to buy a high power green laser pointer . The problem is that high power green pointers don’t have a uniform price on the market. And many businesses use low power green light as a high power to cheat consumers So, what if we can choose a high power laser pen? Here are my years of experience:   1. If you’re rich and don’t care about the price, then Wicked Laser is your first choice. The product is exquisite, but the price i

Fun with VCSELs and the iPhone 8

The iPhone 8 is notable because it is the first iPhone that contains lasers --two to be exact. The iPhone 8 contains a lower-power vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) pointing backward and another higher-powered VCSEL facing forward. If you own an iPhone 8, you are holding these lasers in your hand right now but probably never knew it. What do they do? First, they assist the iPhone 8’s camera to understand the scene the camera is viewing, and they assist with camera autofocusing. Second, the laser sensors assist virtual reality applications to understanding their physical environment, in the same way autonomous vehicles use lidar and cameras to understand their physical environment. Lumentum is producing the majority of the VCSELs that Apple is using in their iPhones, but Apple will also buy some additional VCSELs from other manufacturers like Finisar and II-VI. While the iPhone 8 is the first Apple smartphone using VCSELs, they have been used in a variety of other smart
