Alternative fabrication scheme for microscale semiconductor lasers

A systematic study of a simple and general structure for on-chip semiconductor lasers by A*STAR researchers sets the scene for much broader application of integrated semiconductor lasers beyond conventional silicon-based systems. The ability to use, manipulate and sense light is applicable to many technologies, from data interconnection and fiber optics to optical sensors and optical storage systems. One such non-silicon-based application is a new type of data storage system called heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR), which researchers at the A*STAR Data Storage Institute have been working on as a next-generation data storage technology. HAMR uses integrated lasers for fast and precise micro-spot heating of a magnetic medium, but requires the laser to be formed on aluminum-titanium-carbide (AlTiC) rather than silicon. This presented Chee-Wei Lee and his colleagues with a significant problem, since the silicon substrate plays in integral role in producing the laser light. ...

If you're going to buy a 2W blue  laser p ointe r,  it's highly recommended to look at the review video below :  https://youtu.be/_Gl5__VcBdU The real high power laser p ointer , powerful laser, rich accessories . Read several sites of high-power laser pen product page, u ntil f ound the review video on Y outube . I don't want to look for other businesses anymore, that's this, LuckLaser's 2W blue laser pointer , and I'm expecting it, and the price is still being promoted .

Laser Diode Module

Image
The IQ1C250(473-300) laser from Power Technology Inc. is an instrument quality laser diode module for high-end OEM applications.  The IQ1C250(473-300)is available with digital or analog modulations. The new module offers 3 times the previously available power in this wavelength with 300 mW.  The IQ1C250(473-300) features a collimated beam with diffraction limited technology, provides a typical wavelength of 473 nm compared to the 488 nm by previous generation models and operates optimally from 8 VDC rather than 12 VDC. The versatility of the module makes it ideal for a range of uses including bioanalysis, fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy.  source:https://www.photonics.com/Product.aspx?PID=6&VID=146&IID=979&PRID=61945 www.civillaser.com
