With its unique fiber structure, this laser achieves high efficiency, long life and stability, bringing revolutionary changes to industrial production. In the future, it will continue to lead the new trend of laser technology and contribute to scientific and technological progress and industrial development. What's in the video is a 1550nm nanosecond pulse laser. This high-power nanosecond laser is equipped with 2 fibers. The Ouput fiber below is the normal laser output fiber. The Monitor fiber above is a signal synchronization fiber, used for synchronizing optical signals, with a peak power of about 10mW. The signal can be built-in or external input. The yellow interface here is the signal input interface.  This laser uses ...

1550nm Nanosecond Pulse Fiber Laser: An Important Force Leading the Innovation of Fiber Optic Communication technology

Image
With the rapid development of science and technology, fiber lasers, as an efficient and stable light source, have been widely used in many fields such as communications, medical treatment, and material processing. Among them, the 1550nm nanosecond fiber laser plays an increasingly important role in scientific research and industrial applications due to its unique wavelength characteristics and excellent performance. First, let's take a look at the wavelength characteristics of the 1550nm nanosecond fiber laser. 1550nm is located in the infrared spectrum range and belongs to near-infrared light. Laser of this wavelength shows excellent transmission performance in optical communications, which can effectively reduce fiber loss and improve communication efficiency. At the same time, in the fields of medical treatment and material processing, the 1550nm laser has strong penetration and can achieve precise treatment of deep tissues and fine processing of high-hardness materials. Laser and Rare Earth

Image
Since the emergence of lasers in rubies in the 19 6 0s, in the same year, calcium fluoride (CaF2:Sm2+) was found to output pulsed lasers. In the second year, pulsed lasers were obtained in ytterbium-doped silicate glass. The rare earth has formed an indissoluble bond. Rare earths have many properties such as magnetism, light, electricity, superconductivity and catalysis. They are one of the most important materials in this century. They are widely used in many fields. As a non-renewable resource like oil, they are valued by many countries. Strategic resources. Since the rare earth was bonded to the laser, the utilization of rare earth in the laser has been deepened. In 1962, the CaWO4:Nd3+ crystal was used to output the continuous laser. In 1963, the rare earth chelate liquid laser material was firstly developed, and the erbium-doped benzoylacetone was used. The pulsed laser was obtained from the alcohol solution. In 1964, the ytterbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet crystal (Y3Al5...

New 300 mW Continuous-Wave UV Laser features excellent Lifetime and Plug & Play Operation

Image
TOPTICA's TopWave product line of industrial continuous-wave UV laser reaches a new power level. The latest member, TopWave 266, is now available with 300 mW output power at 266 nm. It provides a first-class lifetime (> 10,000 h), outstanding low-noise performance (typ. < 0.1% RMS) and excellent power stability (< 1 %). Adding premium beam quality (M² < 1.3), high wall-plug efficiency (no chiller needed) and a compact footprint, this narrow linewidth (< 1 MHz) system is more than just a coherent laser. The TopWave 266 meets the needs for high reliability of demanding applications like semicon inspection, optical lithography, FBG fabrication, laser mastering and Raman spectroscopy. Its complete UV beam path, including TOPTICA’s proprietary SUV doubling cavity, is enclosed in a specially sealed compartment which guarantees ultimate stability. In combination with a fully automated optics shifter it enables typical lifetimes well above 10,000 hours, thus notably exten...

Fiber-laser in-band pumping enables novel 2 µm high-power short-pulse laser

Image
Highly efficient high-power short-pulse lasers in the 2 µm wavelength range based on thulium (Tm3+)-doped materials have a variety of applications that include materials processing (such as polymer-to-metal joining), lidar, mid-infrared optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) that produce wavelengths up to 12 μm, and mid-IR supercontinuum generation. They also would enable direct coherent soft x-ray generation via high-order harmonic generation (HHG). For these applications, a light source with much higher conversion efficiency, average power, pulse energy, and shorter pulse duration is desirable. Now, Masaki Tokurakawa and colleagues at the Institute for Laser Science, University of Electro-Communications (UEC; Tokyo, Japan) have developed novel 2 µm high-power short-pulse lasers based on new technique of fiber-laser in-band pumping at 1611 nm and Kerr-lens mode locking with a new Tm-doped gain medium provided from the University of Hamburg by researcher Christian Kränkel.1, 2 ...

Laser beams for superconductivity: Research sheds light on unexpected physical phenomena

Image
A laser pulse, a special material, an extraordinary property which appears inexplicably. These are the main elements that emerge from a research conducted by an international team, coordinated by Michele Fabrizio and comprising Andrea Nava and Erio Tosatti from SISSA, Claudio Giannetti from the Università Cattolica di Brescia and Antoine Georges from the Collège de France. The results of their study have recently been published in the journal  Nature Physics . The key element of the study is a compound of the most symmetrical molecule that exists in Nature, namely C60 bucky-ball, a spherical fullerene. It is well known that this compound, with the chemical formula K3C60, can behave as a superconductor - that is, conduct without dissipating energy - below a critical temperature of 20 degrees Kelvin, i.e. around -253 degrees Celsius. It has recently been discovered that K3C60 is capable of transforming into a high-temperature superconductor when struck by an extremely brief ...
